I miss sleeping serenely with you by my side
So much that my thoughts tend to run to hide
Just how hard it really is to find restful
Repose even when my nurturing nest is full
With our four, sensational sons who sound
More like you with each passing second.
Your presence in each of them is overwhelming
At times and causes me to increasingly
Need to escape the emptiness of the loneliness
That loiters in the void felt by the stillness
Of the stone- cold pillows, sheets, and covers.
I miss you as my bed partner and dream maker!
