In The Ghostly Lengthening of Shadows

While a melting, mauve sun sets lamentingly low
In the ghostly lengthening of dark plum shadows
A distance out from the trees stands a trembling doe
Bleeding from arrows of loneliness shot from a long bow

The steel chill of the Autumn air brushes swiftly and swirls
Causing a ticker tape parade of leaves to rattle and whirl
As a full moon glows amid this gloom like a precious pearl
Stars bend to touch the doe with Light that twinkles and twirls
