Love’s Ultimate Sign

Love’s Ultimate Sign

>From town to town, His Holiness did roam
He had no palatial palace for his earthy home
Yet, from a young handmaid’s humble womb
To a borrowed and blocked closed, tight tomb
Emerged Jesus, the Hero of the greatest story ever told
The Son of the Divine King, not adorned in gold
But barefoot, beaten, and robed in His Precious Blood
>From open wounds now caked with tearful mud
Carrying a wooden cross weighted heavily on His Shoulders
Scorned and spat upon by common criminals and Roman soldiers
Three times stumbling
While people stood by mocking Him and mumbling
Three times falling
While obediently following His Father’s calling
So ordinarily human and extraordinarily Divine
His Death on the cross was Love’s ultimate Sign!
