Missed With a Memory Never Dismissed

Missed With a Memory Never Dismissed

The victorious sound of glorious bells resonated from the heavenly realm
While guardian angels delivered a barrage of saved souls out of the bedlam
In a fierce, fire- breathing, body- strewn, blood and guts- splattered
And blown apart battle over nothing in the end that really and truly
mattered!
Rifles rapidly fired bullet upon bullet that rampantly raced
Through the stench of burning flesh and the smoke- filled air spaced
Between the brave faces of fear after seeing so much destruction and death!
Men and Boys were brutally robbed of their life's beautiful breath!
Cannonballs violently volleyed clueless to the casualties they were
incurring.
The number of losses of life was numbing to the soldiers staggering
Back to a protected position lifting their leg after leg with heaving sorrow
Over the hollow shells of those who were to have had a shining tomorrow.
Hearts no longer pulsated with potential for future parts in this war
machine.
Now their soaring souls were the only things still shining that could be
seen
And did this baseless battle buttress or change the course of events?
Most definitely
And immeasurably infinitely
For the grieving families and friends for whom these men's great lives meant
The wonder and splendor of the world to and would be lovingly, long missed
And to the remaining men who would revere their memory, never to be
dismissed!
